It is not easy to create a herbal worming for cats who gets enough active ingredients, which are worm-hostile and good for cats at the same time , because cats have a glucuronidation weakness.
This means that cats lack the glucuronyltransferase (uridine 5'- diphospho-glucuronosyl transferase), which it is localized in the liver enzyme. This enzyme helps both the degradation of exogenous substances which do not occur in the organism and do not form naturally, but are synthesized by chemical processes or by means of biotechnological processes (xenobiotics).
These include in particular substances from allopathic drugs, alcohol and poisons environment and this is exactly the one which can not or only very slowly degrade in cats, because they have no glucuronyltransferase.
In this respect, even small amounts of an analgesic (pain reliever) such as acetaminophen or aspirin or drugs such as permethrin (antiparasitic agent) can not be broken down in the liver of the cat. As a result, it comes to toxic accumulation in the liver because the non-degradable substances accumulate therein. Such poisoning often results in the death of the cat.

Plant powders can also made more delicious to the cat when it is stirred under strong smelling food like tuna. Even with natural yogurt the milled plant can be mixed easily. even dairy foods are often described as suboptimal in connection with a deworming cure but instead one feeds cereal starch of flour and sugar out of honey (both regarded as promoting worm),dairy products are the better alternative. Moreover, the worm herbs can be made more palatable with catnip.
application
We recommend our herbal vermifuge "WORM UP Cat" for regular worm prophylaxis (at least 2x a year), but point out that the collection and laboratory analysis of the cats dejection still makes sense. We also recommend the use of Kräuterwurmkur "WORM UP Cat" to be prepared for an addition to chemical treatment, after strong or present worm problems or intestinal rehabilitation after chemical treatment.
In connection with herbal wormers it is often recommended for particularly "sensitive" and "meticulous" gourmets to roll a herbal pill from the powder, and to add a little flour and honey . We can not give this recommendation because bitter herbs such as wormwood are limited in their effect by coadministration of honey. In addition, you "nourish" worms with sugary foods, thus creating a worm-friendly environment in the digestive tract. It is therefore recommended,to stir the powder in oil (eg linseed oil), in order then to mingle with the food or to make it more palatable with a little ground dried meat (eg from Carnello).
